I am going over to the Cleveland clinic tomorrow to have a long awaited Dr.s appointment. I have been referred to this Dr. So I hope that he is worth the trip to Weston.
At least Erick and I get to sleep in for a couple hours! I will let my friends know what the Doc says if anything new or good :(

If we truly LOVE God we will naturally want to please Him...
The First and Greatest Commandment
Jesus replied, " 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind." This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
— Matthew 22:37–38
Some years ago, around three hundred whales were found marooned on a beach. Scientists speculated that the whales had been chasing sardines and became trapped in shallow water when the tide went out.
Now that's an amazing thing. By chasing little sardines, these gigantic creatures were ultimately led to their doom.
Many people waste their lives chasing sardines, so to speak. They major on the minors and have no clear focus or objective in mind.
But God tells us what should be the primary goal of every Christian. If we can get our priorities straight in this area, everything else will come together. In fact, if we can get these two principles operating in our lives, then all the commandments of God will become a natural outflow of our commitment to Him.
What are these principles? One,
" 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind' " (Matthew 22:37); and two, " 'Love your neighbor as yourself' " (verse 38).
When Jesus spoke these words, He was identifying what should be the focus of every person. Essentially, He was saying that love is the basis for all obedience. If you really love God, then you will naturally want to do the things that please Him.
It has been said, "If you aim at nothing, you are bound to hit it." What is your highest priority in life? What are your goals?
We all channel our energies and passions and thoughts toward something in life. What is it for you?

Erick got a MAC
My husband has been nagging me for a MAC for a long time, and I wanted one too, but they are kind of expensive and we don't have the extra money at the moment. Well Erick convinced me that we could get a Best Buy credit card and have no interest for like 18 months..so Happy bithday, Merry Christmas for 3 years. I am serious. But anyways I haven't figured everything out yet, but it is nice. I noticed that my bud Erin has one, if she can figure it out than I can (hehe just kidding :D ).
Speaking of Erin I got to meet her new baby, Hope (Little cutie). Oh it makes me yearn for my own. Just to be able to look into a tiny precious little face that you and your husband made. That baby was chosen to be yours...you have the privilege to raise and love this tiny life. Such a blessing, such a privilege.

Errbodies havin' babies!!
I know 4 people right now that either had their baby or are about to!
Erin-had her baby September 10th
Carly- In labor as I write this
Amanda- either in labor or should be in a day or two
Stacie- Still has 2 weeks
And then my bud Michelle is pregnant and is about 3 months along.
For those of you that attend FBC Naples I want to make you aware that there will be a ministry being started soon, for women that are going through infertility, have suffered with it, have adopted, have miscarried, know some one who needs encouragement. I pray that many women will come and be comforted with the testimonies that they hear, with the prayer that will be prayed. If you would like to be apart of it, let me know. I would love the help of women who want a chance to serve.

Tell me what you think about this...
A response to, "What can be done to make lower-income home environments more educationally stimulating for young children?" It is not the teachers place to go into the homes and make them more educational stimulating, rather it is the teachers job to make the classroom as stimulating as possible. You don't see teachers going in to middle to upper class homes and attempting to make their home life more educationally stimulating.
It is up to the individual communities, cities, and counties to be responsible for the education of their children. There needs to be less federal involvement and more local attention toward the children's educational stimulation.Churches, ministries, and local organizations must lead the way in providing for the community and their children.
Many people think that we can provide for our children through programs such as "No child left behind" or other government subsidies of its kind. Many people want help handed to them rather than taking individual responsibility. I think there needs to be a plan in providing assistance, yet it does not need to come through federal funding.
In response to "What kinds of parent training might be effective?" For starters, I agree that there needs to be parental training. The question is, how? It is the churches responsibility to care for the homes. This is a ministry opportunity as James1:27 says "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after> orphans and widows> in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." or in other words, take care of those in need.
It was never the federal governments job to take care of every persons educational experience. The federal government does not have a vested interest in every school of every community. Once again, in order to help the parents of the children, the individual communities must take responsibilities.
In response to "What kinds of early intervention programs might be effective?" The problem with this question is that, we expect a program to produce a certain outcome, programs don't do anything. Lacking people to perform it, lacking priority, and lacking a passion to help people, a program is useless. What the United States needs is less programs, and more individuals taking responsibility for their own community. Programs are impersonal, and therefore they do not understand the needs of individual communities. Education has become a government program/policy rather than a communal ideology and practice. We forfeited our right and responsibility to our children and given it to a government who is responsible to its constituents (middle-upper class).
Final thoughts:
We need to be less reliant on "outside assistance/programs" and more reliant on community involvement. We need less government and more individual assistance. Therefore it is our obligation as educators and Christians to help motivate and inspire our communities for service and the education of our children. Some communities have already done this, but it is the obligation of each community to care for itself. The church can help in leading the way, yet it is still up to individuals to have a passions for educating children. I know that I have not truly answered the question for a program, assistance, or intervention. My only hope is that we will focus less on the affor mentioned items, and focus more on the communities involvement of education (without the federal government's assistance).

I hate when this happens
I hate when you bite your cheek and then you keep on biting it...and it keeps getting worse and worse. And then if you are like me you chew gum and AHHHH bite your cheek super hard and now your cheek is so swollen that you can't talk without your teeth aggravating it.
I hate that!

What was I thinking....I'm so naive
Today during my Chemistry class we performed a "I'm gonna let you just mix some chemicals together so you can learn pure science". This was a lab in their book but I should have been better prepared to separate the chemicals for them. I mean I would have thought that the students wouldn't double dip back into the chemical bottle once they used the stirer. WOW they mixed chemicals in the chemical bottles.
They had fun and didn't blow anything up, well things did bubble over but nothing was damaged. But now I have to buy about 6 new bottles of chemicals.
Anyways atleast I know what to expect from them...they are sloppy chemists!
I wonder how these chemist started out??
I am really itchy I wonder what they spilled on me??

There is a student in my study hall who is drinking coconut water...I like to eat organically and I can even get pretty crazy but that seems to natural for me.
Speaking of organically my husband Erick bought me some lactose free milk, and it still made me sick...I think I may be allergic to cows.
So I made this pizza the other night...I was impressed. The crust was a millet and flaxseed crust (No gluten) I loaded it up with two layers of pepperoni (A little much I will admit, there was so much grease...that doesn't do a stomach good)and then on top I shredded a ton of goat cheddar cheese (Goat cheese is a really good alternative to cows cheese) Any ways it was good.
Have a good rest of the day!!
